From the highly awarded First Ridge stable comes a new range of Mudgee classics
OUR STORY
A perfect blend of innovation and tradition
Our original Mudgee Ridge Estate vineyard was established in the late nineties and initially supplied grapes to a number of wineries, before focusing on making award winning Italian varietal wines under our First Ridge label some 10 years ago. Now, comes a new hero range of traditional classics under the Mudgee Ridge Estate label.
Made in Mudgee, with discerning wine lovers in mind, the Mudgee Ridge Estate range of traditional classics have been created from our Mudgee Ridge Estate grapes, along with the skill and ingenuity of our wine maker, which would no doubt please our loyal First Ridge supporters.
While originally created exclusively as an on and off premise offering for select restaurants, wine bars and bottle shops, public enquiry has led us to sell this premium boutique range directly, at a price point that would be a welcome surprise for such quality wines.
The ever evolving Mudgee Ridge Estate range will be built around both innovation and tradition, and with new varietals to be added in the coming years, there’s a lot to look forward to.
James Manners
Winemaker
James believes winemaking is a wonderful balance between art and science, with the challenge being to walk that line with a light hand and allow the vineyard and individual parcels of fruit to shine.
James came to First Ridge with wide ranging experience both here and abroad. Having made wine extensively in Mudgee for Orlando and Robert Oatley he has an all encompassing grasp of the region, and had some invaluable experience making wine at Inniskin in Canada and Domaine des Collines in Bordeaux. There’s no doubt he’s gained some deep experience as a winemaker and has a great knowledge of fruit and how to get the best out of it.

Mudgee Ridge Estate
2021 Enzo
A blend of Shiraz, Merlot and Tempranillo. Shiraz spice coupled with Merlot forest fruit and chocolate and cherry from the Tempranillo.
Drinks perfectly with pizza or more elaborate meals.
Mudgee Ridge Estate
2021 Tempranillo
Varietal dark cherry and plums with soft, medium weighted tannins and a long finish of blue and blackberry fruit.
Perfect with tomato based dishes.
Mudgee Ridge Estate
2022 Shiraz
Bright spice plum and blackberry fruit. Soft tannins with bittersweet dark chocolate palate and mulberry fruit.
Perfect with hearty meat dishes.
